How you can increase your computer speed


Everyone wants that his computer will work on a single click but most of the time this doesn’t happen. So stop sitting idle in front of your PC. Just follow these simple steps to boost your PC performance.

How you can increase your computer speed





1. Remove unnecessary programs 


There are many programs that you have installed for some purpose, but currently, they are of no use. So un-install these programs by following simple steps. 

a. Select Start and click Control Panel. 

b. Select Add or Remove Programs, which display all the programs that have installed on your PC. 

c. Remove the unnecessary programs by change/Remove tab.

2. Manage your programs from Start-up.


There are many programs running unnecessarily in your PCs virtual memory. This is due to some files those were not removed even you have to uninstall your software’s/games. This can surely have an adverse effect on your system performance. 

So just follow the simple steps for managing the programs from Startups 

a. Select Start and click Run 

b. Run msconfig 

c. Click Startup Tab 

d. Disable the unnecessary Startups. 

e. Click Services Tab 

f. Disable the unnecessary Services. 

g. Apply these setting. 

h. Click Restart for enables these setting immediately.

 

3. Disk Clean Up.

You can also Increase your PC performance by removing temporary files, recycle bin's files, Compress old files etc. 

For disk, cleaning follow these steps


a. Select the Start Button and then move the cursor to All programs Tab 

b. Then Point on Accessories Tab and then to System Tools. 

c. Then finally Click on Disk Cleanup 

d. A window will open in which you to select the drive for clean up 

e. Select Drive and click ok. (Select the window drive first) 

f. Select all the files and click ok for removing all files. 

g. Follows the same steps for all the other drives. 


Many times some files are still pending in your system then select Start Button and click run “Temp” or “%Temp%” and delete all the files ( you are unable to delete some files, so leave that one ) 


4. Defragmentation of your disk volumes.


Follow the simple steps for defragmentation

a. Click Start Button and then move the cursor to All programs Tab

b. Then Point the cursor on Accessories Tab and then to System Tools

c. Then finally click on Disk Defragmentation.

d. For proper defragmentation, your drive should have space more than 15%.

e. Select Drive and click the Analyze Tab to start the defragmentation

f. Defrage the drive if the system suggests for defragmentation 

g. Follows the same steps for all the other drives. 


5. Free up disk space (especially Window drive)


Delete all the unnecessary files from your system. As your window drive should have enough space for running programs. For this, you can change the location of your emails. Use can also use duplicate file finder software for removing duplicate files on your PC. 

6. Manage your icons on the desktop.

Icons on desktop consume Ram of your system. So if the desktop is having many icons then save these icons in a separate folder or remove the unnecessary programs shortcuts. 


7. Adjust your system Performance.



Windows provides a number of interesting visual effects like animated windows and fading menus. These visual effects can slow down your computer. You can learn how to increase PC by adjusting your visual by following these steps. 


a. Select on start Button and then mouse the cursor to Control Panel Tab 

b. Click System icon. 

c. Select the Advanced Tab. 

d. Click Setting Tab under Performance. 

e. Adjust the setting for best performance (Recommended) 

f. Apply these setting. 


8. Scan your PC for Adware, Spyware, Trojans, and Viruses.


Viruses are the type of program that runs in your computer's virtual memory and consumes your PC Ram unnecessarily and Spywares are some sort of virus that collects your personal information’s including usernames, passwords and also hamper your PC performance. Trojan is highly infected viruses that make multiple files and can corrupt your window files. So update for a computer with the latest antivirus and anti-spyware Daily/weekly. Scan your PC monthly to prevent your PC from viruses. 

9. Cleaning your windows registry 


Clean your windows registry is most important for increasing your PC speed. Windows registry is the part of an operating system which stores settings and options like login information, applications installed and their configuration's. There are much free software for cleaning window registry. CCleaner also helps to fix your registry issues to some extent. 

10. Detect and repair disk errors


As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors automatically (this depend upon your usage). Bad sectors decrease your hard disk performance and sometimes make difficult to save any file. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors. 

To run the Error Checking utility:


a. Click My Computer. 

b. Right-click the disk volume you want to search for bad sectors, and then click Properties. 

c. In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools tab. 

d. Click the Check Now button (under the heading of Error-Checking) 

e. In the Check Disk dialog box, select the option for “Automatic fix file system errors”, “Scan and attempt recovery of Bad Sector” and then Click Start.
