Pakistan: Several cities suffer an earthquake
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook several cities in the north of the country on Saturday night - including Peshawar, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Kohat, Swat, Mianwali and Sargodha.
According to India Today, tremors have also been felt in parts of northern India.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center of Pakistan's Meteorology Department in Islamabad, the quake occurred at a depth of 208 km in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, at a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale.
Earlier in the day, a slight earthquake was also felt in Karachi at 7:38. According to the Met department, it was recorded at a magnitude of 2.9 on the Richter scale. Local media reported that this had been felt in many parts of the megalopolis.
